Juliet Balcony Installers in Plymouth

Plymouth Gates & Railings supplies and installs juliet balconies across Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall, in glass infill or metal.
A juliet balcony turns an upper-floor door into a safe, framed opening. It lets in light and air without blocking the view.
On Plymouth’s coastal and elevated properties, the view is the whole point. So we fit systems that hold the glass and keep the outlook, surveying the opening, fabricating to it, and installing to building regulations.
Every balcony is fabricated and installed by our partner NS Metal Crafting Ltd, a Plymouth family business since 2017.

The Juliet Balconies We Install
Glass-Infill Juliets
Toughened glass panels held in a slim metal frame or standoff fixings. The least obstructive option, ideal for sea views and bright rooms.
Metal Bar & Bespoke Juliets
Traditional or contemporary metal balustrade infills, fabricated to match the property. Suited to period homes and bespoke designs.

For full balcony, stair and landing balustrades, see handrails and balustrades.

3. Fabrication & Installation
We fabricate to the opening, finish for the climate, and install with the correct fixings for the wall type.

Built For Sea-View Properties
Wembury’s coastal homes sit in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Owners often add upper-floor doors purely for the sea view, then they need a balcony that protects without spoiling it.
Frameless glass infill
Frameless glass infill on marine-grade fixings is the answer there, keeping the outlook clear while guarding the opening.
Marine-grade stainless
Salt air destroys cheap fittings quickly, so we specify marine-grade stainless on every exposed coastal install.

Common Mistakes vs What We Do

Fixing into a weak substrate
Common mistake: fixing a juliet into render or a weak substrate, so it loosens under load. What we do: we check the fixing substrate on the survey and use the right anchor for the wall.
Standard fittings on the coast
Common mistake: using standard fittings on a sea-facing elevation, so they rust and stain the wall within a season. What we do: we specify marine-grade stainless on exposed coastal sites.
Fitting below the guarding height
Common mistake: fitting below the regulation guarding height to make a panel fit. What we do: we fabricate to the correct height for the opening, every time.
